We all have songs on replay

Music connects everyone. Something about vibrations and specific sounds just get to a person's heart. With lyrics, music may become even sweeter. Songs help during deaths, breakups, weddings, worship, and so much more. I can bet your favorite song connects deeply to a core memory of yours.
Music connects everyone.
I want to share my top seven favorite songs that I can always play on repeat.
1. hate to be you by Lexi Jayde
I have never been in a relationship. I aimed to focus on school and myself so I omitted dating from my life. I do plan to start dating, but I still have no explanation as to why I LOVE this song. This song is about Lexi's boyfriend cheating on her with her best friend. It's very catchy, very fun, upbeat, and empowering. I love the song as a whole but the line "I'd hate to be you / 'Cause I'll get over it, but you have to live with the hell you put me through." I love how she takes back the control and lets go of the feeling of embarrassment that often accompanies a person who's been cheated on.
2. Stranger by Riley Roth
I was scrolling on TikTok, as a member of GenZ does, and I came across a snippet of this song. Two months before it would be released. Disappointed it wasn't out, I liked and scrolled away. When it comes out, I find out a week later and I had it on repeat for weeks. To this day, I can still listen to it non-stop. The music matches perfectly with the lyrics.
3. Wake Up by Julie and the Phantoms (feat. Madison Reyes)
In January 2020, someone I was once close with passed away. I had grown up with him as my father figure, just about the primary one I had. When he passed away, I was devasted and broken. For three days I cried and the craziest thing was it was like this dark grey lens fell upon my eyes. I watched movies and read books and found a lot of them gloss over death. As if it's only a breeze that messes up your hair. I actually appreciated Frozen 2 with "The Next Right Thing" as it captures how true loss feels. I watched JATP and had the whole soundtrack on repeat, but Wake Up sticks out. It seems as if the first half of the song is an idea of what the passed-on person would say to the grief-stricken one. My favorite line is "And I use the pain, 'cause it's part of me" because for me, this pain is a reminder of my love for the one I lost and reminds me of how he made me feel loved back. C.S Lewis said, "Grief is love in it's final stage." That, it is indeed.
4. If I Don't Laugh, I'll Cry by Frawley
Remember how I said I put dating on hold for school and myself? Well, "myself" needed healing. In 3rd to 5th grade I knew this boy. He was my first best friend and, yes, first crush. I have never seen him in-person since 5th grade, but I was able to reconnect with him in 7th grade up until 10th grade. I played a part in the downfall, I know I lied to him, hurt him, and so much more, and he hurt me, lied, and much more to me. We were young and stupid and if I could do it over, there is a list of things I would change. Starting with maybe not reconnecting with him. As stupid as it may sound, I really did fall in love with him at that young age and I got my heartbroken. Anyway, this song helps because whenever someone says his name, a sting lingers and this remedies that.
5. Angels Like You by Miley Cyrus
I'm a writer. I have numerous Work-In-Progress books like a true Wanna-Be author. This song actually relates more to one of my main characters and honestly, Miley's voice is so good. Her voice in this song is very raw and since her voice is unique. Everything melts together.
6. tolerate it by Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift is a lyrical genius. She's poetic and elegant with her music. I personally don't normally like songs with curse words. I absolutely have a distaste for someone cussing like no tomorrow. In my opinion, it doesn't come off well and shows a lack of vocabulary. The way Taylor decorates her lyrics with curse words, though, is perfect for me. The cuss words actually have purpose, as to emphasize something like one normally does in anger. Or to show carelessness. Taylor sings "I wait by the door like I'm just a kid / Use my best colors for your portrait / Lay the table with the fancy sh*t / And watch you tolerate it." Here, the cuss word is to show the fancy plates, cups, ETC are all for him and she only does this for him. This song is a perfect mix of car-ride-singalong and perfect for writing.
7. Why I Got A Truck by RaeLynn (feat. Blake Shelton)
Okay, I know this isn't true country and while I love me some Keith Whitely, George Straight, Randall King, and Chris Ledoux, this song has me replaying it. It's simply fun, which I love. Country music tells a story, which is beautiful, but this one just lets loose.
